Elbphilharmonie Escalator

The Elbphilharmonie is home to Europe’s longest escalator at a staggering 82 meters in length.

Designed in the shape of an arch, this unique freestanding escalator gives riders the sensation of being on an endless journey.

Over 13000 people enjoyed the Elbphilharmonie escalator nicknamed the Tube, which stands 21.43 meters tall and was designed by Herzog & de Meuron.

Taking just two and a half minutes to ascend, the escalator transports its riders to the Elbphilharmonie plaza at a height of 37 meters.

A calming and peaceful atmosphere is created for riders with 7,900 glass spangles that adorn the walls surrounding the Tube.

At 26 meters, you can take in the beautiful sights of the Elbe downstream, including the Landungsbrücken and the Michel, the container port.

When you reach the top of the escalator, you will be at the Plaza’s entrance, signaling the end of a wonderful experience.
